I primarily provide acupuncture treatments. If indicated, you may also receive some bodywork or other ancillary services for optimal healing.
The initial visit lasts 1.5 hours, and is regularly priced at $70. This includes a discussion of your medical history and a treatment.
Subsequent visits last 1 hour, and are regularly priced at $70.
Acupuncture is an ancient method used to attain and maintain good health and well-being. Tiny needles, sterile and solid, are inserted at specific points selected to treat your particular issues.
When your body is out of balance, it cannot function normally resulting in dysfunction or pain. Acupuncture helps the body heal itself. It activates the body's natural painkillers (endorphins), antiinflammatory responses (corticosteriods) and the happy brain chemical (serotonin).
The needles act as gentle transmitters, to identify the area of need and direct the healing response to that area.
Science has accepted the fact that muscles hold emotional memory. The same can be said for organ function. Acupuncture helps to break the attachment to the emotional memory, encouraging better physical health.
Pain can alter your life completely. It's difficult to do anything else when your life is full of pain.
Regardless of the origin of your pain, acupuncture can help alleviate it, and improve sleep (which makes everything easier). Other symptoms related to the pain or not may also improve.
Acute pain can be improved in 6 treatments over 3 weeks. If the pain is chronic, weekly treatments should be continued after the initial 6 treatments, until it is agreed to discontinue because desired improvement is achieved, or if other therapies are necessary for additional improvement.
Pregnancy causes many changes to your life and body. Acupuncture can help you adapt to these changes, by reducing anxiety, improving sleep, alleviating heartburn and nausea.
Preparing the body for labor is another benefit of acupuncture. These particular services are scheduled very specifically around the projected time of delivery.
Acupuncture can also help after delivery to "warm" the mother, helping her recover. This treatment occurs once, shortly after delivery.
During the postpartum period, you need to be strengthened and supported in your recovery. If you have problems breastfeeding, healing a C-section scar, or need help just coping, acupuncture can help.
There is an IVF treatment protocol (the "German protocol") which has been shown to substantially improve implantation success. There are two treatments, one for 20 minutes before IVF and one for 20 minutes after IVF, performed at the fertility center.
I have been trained in a particular type of acupuncture that allows healing to the brain and spinal cord. Brain injuries, either upon birth or because of accident, and neurological diseases can improve in using this type of acupuncture.
Conditions that can be helped include: Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injuries.
